Year 2 Practical Maths - Fractions

In Year 2, the children have been learning about fractions and how to find fractions of amounts. They explored halves, quarters and thirds through practical activities, developing their understanding that fractions are equal parts of a whole. The children enjoyed hands-on learning and took their maths outside, where they used sticks to create shapes and represent fractions. These engaging activities helped them visualise equal parts, work collaboratively, and build confidence in finding fractions of different quantities in a fun and meaningful way.
