Strengthening Structures
During today's DT lesson, the children have been learning how to make their towers stronger using a range of strengthening techniques.
Today, the children practised laminating (layering sheets of paper/card to make it stronger), rolling, shaping (cylinders and triangular prisms are strong shapes) and we also used struts to turn squares into triangles, as triangles are stronger than squares. The children will be utilising these techniques when designing their towers this week.
