Meeting Frank Cottrell-Boyce

For our KS2 English Challenge Day this year, a number of children were selected to attend an Author Visit at another local primary school. The author in question was Frank Cottrell-Boyce. He is currently the UK Children's Laureate 2024–2026 and is a multi award-winning children’s book author and screenwriter. We were delighted when we were asked if we wanted to take some children to take part in this special occasion. The children listened to a presentation by Frank, where he talked about his inspiration for writing and read us a few excerpts from his new book, Blockbusters. He even threw in a few magic tricks too! After that, the children were able to take part in a Q&A session and had the copies of their books signed by him! All the children that attended had a fantastic time and said it has really inspired them to write their own stories.
