Doves - Oracy - Silent Debate

Today, in Doves, we have been making predictions about our new text: Boy 87. We have looked at the front cover of the book and are silently debating whether we agree with the following four statements: 

• This book is about a boy in a concentration camp and he has been given the number 87
• The boy is the 87^th person on the boat sailing on an adventure.
• They live in an arctic climate and the white cubes are an avalanche.
• This book is about racial tension. He is black and living in a world of white people who outcast him.

The children were challenged to use our agreed debating sentence stems whilst making their arguments (Your argument is flawed because, Having considered the evidence, In my opinion, To conclude etc)
