Design And Technology in Herons Class

In Design and Technology, we have been learning that there are lots of ways to join fabrics together. We have learnt that fabrics can be sewn together, glued, stapled or safety pinned. We have also explored weaving as a way of joining and creating patterns.

We have learnt different techniques such as stamping, fringing, coiling and rolling. During this topic, we have also looked at repeating patterns. We used counters to take turns identifying the patterns we could see and then built on what our friends had already identified.

We will use all of these skills and techniques later in our topic to design and create our own T-shirt. Here we are learning all of these techniques!
