DT - Strengthening Techniques

In DT this week, Herons have been exploring a range of different strengthening techniques, including rolling, folding, layering and using triangles. The children practised these skills before working together to combine their models and build a strong tower. Using their oracy skills, they discussed where to place the cylinders, how to fold the paper effectively and how triangles could be used to strengthen their structures further. We then tested our towers by placing mini dinosaurs on top—such a fun challenge! Everyone worked really hard practising the techniques we have been learning. Well done, Herons!
