France 2026 - Day Three!
After our croissants, we set off on our historical World War One tour. To start off, we visited Wellington Quarry where we had a guided tour underground exploring the tunnels that were used by the British and New Zealand soldiers. We then travelled to Vimy Ridge and spent some time reflecting at the Canadian monument and walking through the trenches, understanding how the soldiers would have felt. We were then lucky enough to squeeze in a visit to Thiepval, the memorial to the Missing of the Somme for British and Commonwealth soldiers. It was a very reflective and informative day with lots of inquisitive questions being asked. The day finished with Chateau Olympics which, as I’m sure you can imagine, got very competitive!
