Science - Welly Walk

In science Herons went on a leaf hunt around the school grounds to explore and identify different types of plants and leaves. Using our classroom learning, we observed the shapes, sizes, and colours of leaves to help us recognise a variety of tree species. Along the way, we also looked closely at different plants, identifying their key parts such as roots, stems, stalk, petals, trunk, branches, bark and leaves. We really enjoyed being able to apply our science knowledge to the real world and learn more about the nature around us.
