Practical Maths in Eagles Class - Subtraction

In maths this week we have been learning about subtraction. Today, our mastery group worked together to solve the 'what's in the bag?' problem.  The magic bag took numbers in, did something to them and then sent them out the other side. Sometimes it added a number and sometimes it subtracted a number. The children were given the number that came out and based on what the bag did to the number, they had to work out what number had gone in. The problem led to lots of interesting mathematical discussion and great calculating too!
