KS1 Muddy Puddles Day - Skylarks
Today, KS1 have had a fantastic time immersing themselves in nature. As part of our 'Muddy Puddles' day, the children have been on a local welly walk to Thorpe Lane Woods, where they learnt to carry sticks safely, walk on uneven terrain and investigate signs of Spring.
The children have also investigated the work of Andy Goldsworthy, a British artist who uses natural materials in his work. The children then created their own work in his style.
Finally, we have shared the book 'Tree - Seasons come, Seasons go.' We looked at the different parts of flowers and trees and learnt that some trees are deciduous whilst others are evergreen. We explored our school grounds and looked for examples of these before creating our own trees.
