Comparing Leaves and Petals in Science
Herons have been exploring our school grounds, collecting fallen horse chestnut and sycamore leaves, along with flower petals, to compare. Back in the classroom, we used magnifying glasses to take a closer look, describing and discussing the similarities and differences we observed. Using their excellent observational skills, the children worked in pairs to record their findings before sharing and discussing them as a class.
The children thoroughly enjoyed using their scientific observation skills to discover the similarities and differences between the leaves and petals.
