In maths, Year 1 have been learning to recognise and name 2D and 3D shapes. Today, the children have sorted these shapes based on their names. They recognised that, although shapes may have the same name, they can be different sizes, orientations and colours.

The school council have signed us up to join in with Duracell’s big battery hunt. Duracell are encouraging pupils up and down the country to recycle their batteries instead of putting them in landfill to help make our planet greener and cleaner. Happy pancake day! As part of our school council meeting today, we were given a very special treat as a thank you for all of our hard work so far this year. They were delicious!!

This half-term, Skylarks have been learning about Reggae music. We have learnt to sing and play instruments to ‘Zootime’ by Joanna Mangona.
