KS1 Nurses Day

International Nurses Day is celebrated every year on the 12th May. This is also the day that Florence Nightingale was born in 1820. To celebrate the amazing work the NHS and our nurses do, KS1 took part in many activities throughout the day. We learnt how to make an emergency call and the information we need to give over the phone. We talked about how accidents are different from an emergency and what the differnt emergency services are. In our next activity, we looked at minor bleeding and how we can bandage. We also looked at a first aid kit and what each equipment is for. Our teddies has fun being bandaged and we also pretended to take their temperature and heart beat. We made our own hospitals from wooden bricks, Duplo and Lego and had fun in our Tranmere hospital. We had a lovely day!
