To start our new topic ‘We are what we eat’, Eagles have been exploring seeds. We tried to sort them before we knew what they were and then put them into three groups: vegetable seeds, fruit seeds and flower seeds.
After comparing the different seeds we planted some in seed trays. We planted onions, courgettes, spinach and some sweet peas. We look forward to harvesting the vegetables later this year and adding them to our school dinner menu.
The children also enjoyed exploring our newly delivered library books all about plants and growth. They loved sharing these wonderful books with their friends and learning some new and interesting facts!
We are looking forward to our trip to Morrisons on Monday 20th, where we will learn more about where our food comes from.
