On Thursday, 7 children travelled to Ralph Thoresby School to take part in a Road to Wembley football tournament, hosted by the Leeds United Foundation. They competed in a round robin tournament against 4 other schools and the top 4 went through to the semi-finals. We played really well in the round robin stages and made it through to play against Horsforth Newlaithes in the semi-final. It was a tense game, with some really good football on show. We thankfully won which meant we played in the final against St Mary’s Horsforth and won again. We are officially the North West Leeds champions! We have also qualified for the Leeds City Finals. Before we go to the city finals, the children will have the opportunity to train at Leeds United’s training ground and have a session with one of their coaches. Both George and I were incredibly proud of all the children involved and are looking forward to watching them in the next round, well done all! A special well done to Jensen’s mum for being the photographer, a extravagant number of 806 photos over the afternoon, which has to be some sort of record!!
