We investigated the effects of liquids on teeth by testing orange juice, cola, vinegar and water on hard boiled eggs. The composition of the shell of a hard boiled egg is similar to that of the surface of our teeth so we put a hard boiled egg into each of these liquids and left them for a week. The cola turned the egg shell brown, the orange juice caused LOTS of damage, the vinegar changed the egg in a very peculiar away. Among other things, it became squidgy and bounced when we dropped it. The only liquid that had no effect on the egg was – drumroll – water, of course.
