This week in Science, we conducted an investigation! The question we looked at was ‘Does head circumference help us to predict a person’s height?’ We made our predictions and then soon set about trying to find the answer. We used metre sticks and tape measures to find out the measurements for children in the class and then analysed the data. We concluded that in fact, the answer is NO! Head circumference does not help us predict height. This is because the rate of growth that our head has does not match the rate of growth in height. We also talked about how our head mostly grows within the first year after birth. Have a look to see our fantastic investigative skills!
