Eagles learn about Florence Nightingale – The Lady with the Lamp!

In topic, Eagles class have been learning about Florence Nightingale. The children watched a film clip about her life and then worked in groups to share and record key facts. The children learnt a lot about her and will continue to develop their knowledge over the coming weeks.

Did you know that…

-Florence Nightingale set up the first Nurse’s training school

-She was known as ‘The lady of the lamp’ because she would check on the soldiers at night time and would always carry a lamp

-She was named after the city in Italy where she was born.
