Today, we were joined by Doctor Khanna, who kindly volunteered his expertise and led a dissection. The children learnt about the chambers of the heart and the purpose of: veins, arteries, the trachea, the bronchi, the lungs and the alveoli. Further to this, on two of the samples, we were able to spot the voice box and the diaphragm. The children asked many questions and were enthused by the opportunity to bring their learning to life. A massive thank you from all of the 5/6 team to Doctor Khanna and a special mention to Izzy’s Grandad who provided the hearts and lungs. Team Tranmere at its absolute best.
