We’re coming to the close of what has felt like a very strange week in school. I’m sure it has for you too, wherever you have spent it. There is too much gratitude for too many groups and individuals for me to even know where to start, but there are a few important things to say.
Firstly, to the vast majority of our parents who have had to shuffle their lives around this week to keep their children at home and also those in isolation – thank you! I appreciate how challenging this week must have been for many of you. I heard prosecco stocks were at an all-time low in Aldi!! Teachers are busy working on a whole school topic for after the Easter break that will bring together those of you isolating at home and those of us in school. There will be more to come on this in the coming days on the website and on Google Classroom but I hope that you have found the home/school packs helpful in the interim. We are thinking of all of our amazing children at home. It has been wonderful to already hear a little bit about what you are doing and how you are supporting your families and communities from home. We are so proud of you all!
We are equally proud of the children who have had no other option but to come to school this week, many of whom have tired and overworked parents at home right now. School has felt very different to what we are all used to, but they have all been so much fun to be with and have just enjoyed our days together. Again, we couldn’t be more proud of you all.
I’d also like to say a huge thank you to our amazing staff. I’ve been overwhelmed by their kindness, resilience, professionalism and genuine desire to do anything at all to help our children and families at this exceptionally difficult time. We couldn’t ask for a better team!
And finally, to our key worker parents – we can’t thank you enough for the incredible work you are doing. We are here to support you and your families as much as we possibly can going forward. THANK YOU.
I’m sure that we have more challenges to face in the weeks ahead but we will get through them if we all continue to support each other.
