Dear parents and carers,
This first week back was always going to be a challenge. We came to it prepared to review and accept that some of the plans we have in place will work well and others will need to be altered. We can see that the morning drop-off arrangements as they stand at the moment are proving problematic and we therefore would like change the plan from MONDAY 14th SEPTEMBER 2020. We’re doing this in an attempt to keep all our families as safe as we possibly can and thank you in advance for your support in working with us to make this as successful as possible.
PLEASE take the time to read the drop-off and pick-up schedule carefully and take note of your allocated slot to be on site. Please do not arrive at the school site before your allocated slot to drop-off or pick-up.
Sibling groups and childminders must continue to use the slot associated with their youngest child.
Where at all possible only one adult per family group should come onto the site to drop-off/collect.
Please ensure that you (and your child/children) remain appropriately socially distanced from those not in your family group at all times.
Early Years Children (Robins and Bluebirds)
Drop – Off Time: 8.30am
Pick-Up Time: 2.45pm
Adults with a child in Early Years should use either the top gate (on Ridge Way) or the side gate (on Ridge Close) to enter the school site. If you have KS2 children to drop-off too you must use the side gate in order to drop-off/collect from the KS2 classroom doors on your way around the one-way system (see map). We are using both gates to alleviate queues – please try to avoid gathering at one gate where possible.
KS1 Children (Eagles, Skylarks and Herons)
Drop – Off Time: 8.40am
Pick-Up Time: 2.55pm
Adults with a child in KS1 should use either the top gate (on Ridge Way) or the side gate (on Ridge Close) to enter the school site. If you have KS2 children to drop-off too you must use the side gate in order to drop-off/collect from the KS2 classroom doors on your way around the one-way system (see map). Children in Years 3 and 4 (Red Kites, Woodpeckers and Falcons)
Drop-Off Time: 8.50am
Pick-Up Time: 3.05pm
Adults with a child in one of these three classes should only use the side gate (on Ridge Close) to enter the school site. Please then follow the one-way system to drop-off/collect your child and then exit the site (see map).
Please do not arrive on site before 8.50am unless you also have a child in Early Years or KS1.
Children in Years 5 and 6 (Puffins, Kingfishers and Doves)
Drop-Off Time: 9.00am
Pick-Up Time: 3.15pm
Adults with a child in one of these three classes should only use the side gate (on Ridge Close) to enter the school site. Please then follow the one-way system to drop-off/collect your child and then exit the site (see map).
Please do not arrive on site before 9.00am unless you also have a child in Early Years, KS1 or years 3 or 4.
We’re hopeful that by making these changes, and by asking that parents stick to their allocated slots, the flow of foot traffic on and around the school site should create fewer pinch points.
