This week in Woodpeckers, we completed a vocabulary lesson focusing on some of the new key words that we are going to see pop-up consistently throughout out topic of Rainforests and Chocolate.
To begin with, we read the new vocabulary and discussed their potential meanings. Then, we had a go at matching each word with the correct definition. To finish, we had a go at playing pairs on our table to see if we could remember the correct definitions for each word.
The words we defined were: biome, climate, tropical, rainforest, forest floor layer, understory layer, canopy layer, emergent layer, indigenous people, deforestation, cacao tree and fair trade. Why not test us on our knowledge next time you see us?
