Before we start our new topic of Scavengers and Settlers, we have learned some new vocabulary that will crop up consistently throughout the term. To begin with, we looked at the new vocabulary, discussing potential pronunciations and meanings. Then, we had a go at matching the vocabulary to their correct definitions, discussing them as we went. We have learned the following words today: prehistoric, Stone Age, Bronze Age, Iron Age, Fossils, Species, Chronological, Evolution, Skara Brae, Stonehenge, BC and AD.
After we had learned all of this new vocabulary, we were intrigued to find out more about the meaning of prehistoric, so we decided to look into Stonehenge. This gave us more of an understanding of how history is pieced together from these times.
