This morning in maths, we have been learning all about equivalent fractions. To begin with, we recapped on our understanding of what a fraction is, what they show/represent and with the help of pizzas (our favourite visual for learning about fractions), how the bigger the denominator, the smaller the fraction we have.
Next, we were introduced to fraction walls. After exploring these with our partners, we started to see that it showed us how some fractions are equivalent. We even started to notice how equivalent fractions linked to our times tables e.g. 1/3 , 2/6 and 3/9!
Finally, we had a go at creating our own fraction walls as a visual aid for us to keep for future fraction lessons.
