This week in Red Kites, we have started our new Math topic, Mass and Capacity. Today, we have learned all about weighing solid objects. To begin with, we discussed the unit of measurements we use when weighing solid objects (g and kg) and the conversions between these. Then, we had a look at different types of scales that allow us to measure these objects. With our buddies, we used the scales to measure different objects around the classroom…including ourselves! Finally, we got together to share the objects we had measured and had a discussion around comparing the mass of the different things we had weighed.
