Today in Reception we have celebrated Earth Day. We began the day by chatting about some of our favourite places on Earth, such as the beach, our garden, the park and the sea! Then, we went on a nature hunt to see if we could find some of the beautiful creatures and plants that live and grow on Earth.
With this year’s theme focusing on how we can Reduce, Reuse and Recycle our plastic waste and consumption, we discussed the different ways in which plastic can harm the Earth and how we can help put a stop to this! We decided that we should try and buy more foods from the supermarket that aren’t plastic packaged, recycle our plastic into new things such as toys or musical instruments and, reuse any plastic water bottles that we might buy.
