This morning, the children undertook the farm project. The purpose of this was to apply their understanding of number to a real-world setting. As farmers, they had to: select the best crop based upon the weather forecast, decide whether rental costs for machinery and salary costs for staff would lead to increased profits and present their mathematical thinking logically.
