To start our new topic we transformed a piece of fabric using different joining techniques. We tried to make sure that on our fabric we had evidence of cutting, gluing, stapling, sticking, pinning and coiling. Can you see all the techniques?
Thanks to all the contributions sent in for the cake bake on Friday. We still have more to sell and we will be having a mini bake sale during break on Monday. Cakes, which are packaged and in date, will be sold for 20p.

For our Muddy Puddle Day, KS1 focused on the learning behaviour -Self Manager. The children worked on co-operation, taking and managing risks. They had the opportunity to complete a blindfolded obstacle course, a plank walking challenge, blind man’s buff game and toasted marshmallows. We were really impressed with the children’s attitudes towards the activities.
To conclude our topic ‘Hooray let’s go on Holiday’, we visited Kirkstall Abbey House Museum to learn more about seaside holidays. We had the opportunity to explore the museum, created a seaside donkey mask and took part in a workshop learning about seaside holidays in the past. We really enjoyed our trip.
As part of our topic work we have created our own group sand sculptures. We used our hands to mould the sand in to a sea creature and used tools to add texture and detail. Have a look at our creations.

As part of our topic ‘Hooray! Let’s Go On Holiday’, we have opened up our own Tranmere Travel Agents. The children have been able to go in and search through brochures to choose a perfect holiday destination. They have been taking on roles as the customer and the travel agent.
