We are continuing to work on developing our partition skills so this morning we practically split numbers into different combinations of tens and ones using apparatus. Some pupils noticed a pattern and began to mentally partition numbers in lots of different combinations.

Last week we started looking at how we can represent numbers in different ways. Year 1 focussing on numbers to 10, and Year 2 were challenged with numbers up to 100. We used pictures, tens frames, Numicon, base 10 blocks and bead strings to represent each number.

This half-term, our topic work focuses on the story ‘Beegu’ by Alexis Deacon.
