Today in Puffins, we have been creating choropleth maps that show the casualties of both the Allies and Axis countries from WW2. To begin with, we had a look at various choropleth maps that told us about the population density and wealth of the UK. This enabled us to understand how they work and what they can show. We then set off trying to create our own!
Firstly, we sorted our causalities into their correct colour key section, and then, used Google Maps to find and colour these on our own world maps. When researching on Google, we also spotted some countries that have changed slightly over time, such as Czechoslovakia and the Soviet Union.
