Today we visited the Guru Gobind Singh Gurdwara in Bradford. The children were greeted so warmly by all staff and community. They were taught about the life of a Sikh and the traditions, values and cultural practices.
We were all treated to a snack of freshly cooked roti and lentil dhal in the Langar Hall. It was all delicious.
Children learnt how to write their names in Punjabi and asked very insightful questions to the staff.
Learning is always enriched by actually visiting, talking and immersing yourself in the experience. We all gained so much from the visit.
We must say a huge thank you to all the staff and volunteers at the temple for making us all feel so welcome and especially Mrs Amandeep Maan for supporting us before and during the visit.
Such a treat.
