World Book Day 2023 is nearly here, so join the campaign to get everyone sharing a story from breakfast to bedtime. At Tranmere we want to make making story-sharing a habit of a lifetime and create readers for life. Spending just 10 minutes a day reading and sharing stories with children can make a crucial difference to their future success and it’s fun for all involved.
Benefits of reading bedtime stories:
- It enriches their language development
- It grows their imagination and appreciation for stories
- It gives them an outlet for empathy
- It builds their vocabulary
- It encourages engagement and conversation
For World Book Day on Thursday 2nd March, we would like to celebrate the importance of bedtime stories by coming to school dressed in pyjamas (dressing gowns, Oodies, etc). There will be lots of activities happening throughout the day to promote reading for pleasure.
