Just a quick ‘Head’s Up’ today but I wanted to go over a post you may have missed on the Tranmere Times in the last couple of weeks as it’s been so busy …
Those families who aren’t brand new to Tranmere Park will know that our Learning Mentor, Mrs Martin, retired at the end of last year after over 30 years at our school. The Learning Mentor post is one which we have much valued – but have never been funded for – and so we made the decision not to replace Mrs Martin ( …who could replace Mrs Martin?!)
HOWEVER – that doesn’t mean that the invaluable pastoral support she provided for both families and children isn’t available in school any more. All staff are receiving ‘Thrive’ training to enable them to provide high quality pastoral support for our children and families – more to come on this soon….
Mrs Martin also ran a very popular daily ‘drop-in’ from 8.50 – 9.20 when parents and carers could drop in for a chat about any issues which were impacting on their children in school which would then be followed up with the relevant staff in school.
Our Assistant Headteachers, Mr Learmonth and Mr Beech are now taking a lead on pastoral issues in school and are available for drop in chats every morning or a phone call if that is more convenient to you. Just drop in through the front entrance any morning if you have any issues you need to let school know about.
Of course, you can always chat to class teachers or myself or Mrs Hodgson on the playground too 🙂 .
