In maths we have been ordering numbers from smallest to greatest. We picked number cards at random to order and made unifix cube towers to represent the numbers.

We are continuing to work on developing our partition skills so this morning we practically split numbers into different combinations of tens and ones using apparatus. Some pupils noticed a pattern and began to mentally partition numbers in lots of different combinations.

Last week we started looking at how we can represent numbers in different ways. Year 1 focussing on numbers to 10, and Year 2 were challenged with numbers up to 100. We used pictures, tens frames, Numicon, base 10 blocks and bead strings to represent each number.
